On the reverses of the
ATB Quarters on the devices on the outer ring areas, these are incuse devices.
Machine Doubling affects the incuse devices Before/during/after the the strike. On these incuse devices even the slightest movement of the machine alters the devices with
Machine Doubling. This happens minor to huge on 70% of the coins. The incuse devices are raised on the die. But none of the
DDR's are listed on this area. All are
Machine Doubling the
DDR's on the dies are in the central areas of the design only. None on the out devices. Just
Machine Doubling and die wear affects the outer devices away from the centers of the design.

But check to see where to look on the designs as they vary from design to design on the reverses:

ATB Quarter designs on DDO and DDR'shttp://doubleddie.com/719755.htmlObverses are the earlobes and the motto areas for the States and the ATB Quarters:
Note on the earlobes, the affected areas are raised. Either above the devices or above the fields. If they appear flat, then it is
Machine Doubling affecting that edge of the devices.

Not checking what to look for on these will always leave you out of the loop. But the central areas is where to spot them. So check to see what to look for before you waste you time on what is not a
DDO or
DDR on these designs.
