My older sister was a coin collector and owns a numbered copy of this book in excellent condition. As she is now quite elderly and unable to continue collecting, she has asked me to sell her copy for what she paid for it. Could anyone suggest what would be the best venue to list this? (Our division of labor was that I collected stamps and she collected coins, so I don't know the Coin World.)

@stamp, first welcome to CCF. Second, it is best practice to start a new thread rather than reanimate an old zombie one, so I have split your post into a separate topic. The old thread is here:

To answer your question, for sure you don't have enough posts to sell here on CCF. There are a few numismatic booksellers and most of the volumes in my library came via them or the American Book Exchange (abe.com).

to the CCF! As a big time numismatic book collector, I can say this is a tougher book to find with only 1000 copies made. Though it's not impossible, there is one copy on ebay currently for sale at $400.00 a bit too much IMO. It's worth probably around $250-300 range. If you have an ebay account that is one way to go. otherwise there are two rare book dealers but they will not offer you as much as they need to make a profit, I'd bet the value to them is in the $150-175 range at most. The last one I know sold at auction went for $60.00 way back in 2005 as part of the John J. Ford, Jr. auction by Stacks Lot #1454

This book doesn't come up often at auctions, David Fanning (above) holds regular auctions and that maybe a good way to maximize your profit on selling it, you may want to call and discuss that with him or his wife and partner Maria. He is currently working on items for the next auction now, so you'd need to move fast if that is an option.

David Fanning of Kolbe & Fanning Numismatic Booksellers https://www.numislit.com/

and Charles Davis https://www.numisbook.com/

Both are dealers I consider friends and I've spent more on books with them in the past few years than coins. They are both straight shooters, honest and trustworthy.

The other issue is the book is fairly old and many advancements have come along in that particular field of collecting, much newer books as well, so the book is really wanted only as a collectible in it's own right for the book more than the information contained within.
