Ok, so I am getting conflicting info from a few groups. What is y'alls opinion on this. Had someone say almost close to perfect and should be graded. Other, no. Is this a DDR/DDO doubling on the columns and the WE looks like a picture from Rock Hasenberg and Richard S. Cooper on found on this site. Would love opinions and what am I looking at. Also looks like grease strike to the left of Lincoln. Thank you in advance. Trying to figure out if its worth more than face value.

I believe what you are seeing on the reverse as "doubling" on the columns is part of the design. Not seeing a DDO or a DDR., and not seeing evidence of a "grease strike" either. Certainly not worth the cost to have it graded. I encourage you to learn the minting process as it will help you ascertain errors. Look and read pages here on CCF to increase your coin knowledge as well. Bonne chance!

VarietyVista.com has zero ddrs listed for 1973D cents. Have you checked the other sites? Looks like it would make a nice album coin.

to CCF. Not grade worthy, a coin needs a retail value after slabbing of at least $100-150. Not a Greaser either. No DDO or DDR. When looking at reference sites check all three:

I feel there was an issue with the correct tempering of the dies. So this is common to find this year. (no premium as many coins show this from different dies)

The obverse die looks fresh, but after re-looking at the reverse, the UNUM looks smaller than normal. So I'm going to do a side by side comparison to on the obverse dies, to see if the die is that fresh, or was polished. (reducing the size of these devices. (The height/width might be affected)

Here are the results:

Note the three examples from the top Over polished die, slightly polished die and normal devices.

Your coin matches the slightly polished die. Thus the reason your coins fields were so smooth and probably an early strike after that polishing.

Which caught my eye the first time viewing your coin. Realized something new today. That there are differences in polishing that remove more of the fields, thus the devices were reduced in height and width. (smaller in size compared with a fresher die)
