I was going to say EF-45 but I'm not crazy about the
obverse so my call is EF-40 .

Mismatched dies with the obverse being later die state. Slight strike weakness for the date. I'll be the minority at AU50/53, either a net down for the reverse spotting or Details, ED.

It looks like it could be 1936-S RPM-004 Stage C. The die marker looks very weakly present on the "NTS" of CENTS.

I think it comes in at AU-53. That's some fairly aggressive die polishing on the obverse.
