I picked this up from a dealer several years ago for only a dollar, only because he didn't know if this was a case of genuine clips. I saw the Blakesky effect and knew this was good. Adam_E Pillar of the Community United States 4846 Posts	Posted 11/01/2021 10:32 am The Blakesely Effect is not a consistent effect. Some very large clips are absent the effect entirely. The clips look to be the proper curvature and the rims taper towards the clip. I agree that the clip looks genuine. A shot of a clipped edge would confirm it though. If the cladding is flipped on the clipped edge relative to the unclipped edge, it's a genuine clip. Report this Post to the Staff

Whenever I want to validate a coin struck on a clipped planchet, my eyes always go to where the rims meet the clip - if the rims dovetail in from the fields, it is legit. No doubt whatsoever that both clips on the op's coins are legit. Nice error, thanks for sharing.
