After months of having them sit there, I've been spending the morning going through some unidentified coins.

This lovely AE-22 of Severus Alexander (222-235 AD) has me stumped. I've looked online for reverse designs of a serpent coming out of a basket and haven't had any luck. I'm also not sure of the city where it was struck.

The coin weighs 4.39 grams.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

I now also know what a "cista mystica" is. You learn something new everyday with ancient coins.
