1974-D-Penny.-Aluminum?
Can't tell if I'm now a millionaire felony collector or the owner of an interesting coin disguised as a rare anomaly? Weight is 3.10 says my scale

Far to heavy for an aluminum cent. I believe they were .9 grams. Possible it is plated.

@jenz, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree that this cent has been plated. Depending on which metal was used, this cent may now be weakly attracted to a magnet.

Agree with the above. Too heavy to be aluminum.

Also, I think (looking at your photo) that you have what is called a Magician's coin. I see a seam just inside of the edge of the coin.

Magician's coins can be tricky to get apart. Especially if they've been together for years and years.

Edit: I didn't realize that " Magician's coin" was highlighted to click on. Nice!

I I believe it's too heavy to be aluminum or a Magician's coin. Definitely plated, value, 1 cent.

It appears to me that it has been rubbed with mercury.

Plated. Even too heavy to be a steel cent.
