Counterfeit. It has a granular surface texture, but overall look convinces me that this is a counterfeit.

Doesn't particularly look counterfeit to me, but I don't collect this series. The Lincoln experts will solve this one quickly since there are not that many known mintmark locations. to the CCF!

Mintmark does not look the correct size to me. Date looks funny, too.
I can also see funny looking stuff under the shoulder where the designers initials appear to have been incompletely removed.

Yes, we know that counterfeit die. We've seen hundreds of them. We call it the "Close D Fake." Here are the legit mint mark locations: http://goccf.com/t/252833

100% Counterfeit. None of the 1914D mintmarks are that close to the date.

I wasn't able to see a large enough picture of your coin but as I recall, one diagnostic of a genuine one is a die crack from the lower rim to the bust. Don't know if this applies to all known dies however.

Quote: one diagnostic of a genuine one is a die crack from the lower rim to the bust. Don't know if this applies to all known dies however. It does not. Here's another diagnostic of this particular fake. And here's an image from my archives that is the same fake die, I believe.

And to repeat what the other have stated (since I took the time to read and examine all the posts and seen the photos) I looks like a cast coin. The rim has the texture of a cast iron pan - All grainy.
