A doubled die wouldn't also be in the mint mark. Looks like it could be excess material from it being replated with zinc after it left the mint. Still if this is the one from the bank box post, finding a steel cent in a bank box is very lucky.

Steel planchets and steel dies caused the dies to wear out quicker. Thus the metal direction of wear is towards the closest rims. Not a doubled die issue. Just a die wear issue.
