Four years ago today the CCF membership engaged in a petition to acknowledge the tremendous knowledge sharing contributions of our valued member commems.

At the time he was granted the honorary title of CCF Master Historian of USA Commemorative Coins.

The discussion on commems contributions was also the genisis of the link to the library of all of commems posts on the topic over his 10+ years as a member. You can view the original thread here:

I'm writing on the anniversary of this honorary title to simply state again how much I value and appreciate the deep research and unique knowledge sharing that commems brings to the forum.

@commems - your skills as a historian researcher develop facts and circumstances that are unavailable from any other numismatic source. Your elegant and clear spoken writing style transform those facts and circumstances into compelling stories. Most of all - your passion for sharing that knowledge shines through every post you make.

I'm thrilled you are still here with us. I say the honorific title holds true today.

BTW - did I ever mention we're waiting on the book?

@nickelsearcher: Definitely an unexpected surprise! Thank you very much! Your continued support of my efforts is very humbling.

@morgans dad: A big "Thanks!" to you as well for the kind words.

When I joined CCF, my intent was to share a bit about what I knew regarding the items I collected. Hopefully, a fair number of folks have found my "long-winded" posts of some value to their own collecting knowledge base.

I think "USA" and "coins" are both limiting the scope commems' contributions since then.

I owe my growing love and appreciation for medals and other exonumia to him. You will also find his insightful topics gracing many forums not under the USA section.

Perhaps "CCF Master Historian" is too broad, but I can think of no other member who has come as close.

Always a wealth of information. I enjoy reading the history that commems teaches us.

Also, he's cost me a little bit of money. After reading about several commemorative coin, I had to get one my collection, and have targeted others for future purchases.
