Hi all!
I am hoping someone can help me determine if this coin has any value. It looks to me to have several mint errors. I may be wrong since I am newer to coin collecting. Wondering if this coin is worth certifying as an error or if it is just a "cool" addition to my collection. Any feedback is welcome.
Thank you!

@jen, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree that your quarter has been damaged after it left the mint rather than containing a mint error. The various gouges are all accompanied by smeared and displaced metal.

It is a heavily damaged quarter with no value.
One thing to remember is that it is only an error if it happens during the actual striking of the coin,
If your are going to get into coin collecting, you should learn how coins are actually minted
and then you would realize what you have is impossible to happen at that time.
If you are interested in what actual errors are, suggest reading one of the sites on errors such as "errors-ref.com".

First of all, thank you for responding!

I have a lot of parking lot coins with all different sorts of damage. This coin just seemed different than those to me. It almost looked as if the rim had been folded over in some spots. As well, I haven't ever found another parking lot coin with the bulging metal like you can see on this one near the left side of Washington's head, so I was hopeful!
Anyways, I couldn't find anything like it during my web searches. I guess that in and of itself should have told me that it was a post mint error.
I really appreciate your feedback and definitely respect all opinions. Looks like I will have to keep hunting! Thank you!
