This was the other silver dollar I bought at the coin show. I thought it looked prooflike to me, just with many bag marks as typical according to PCGS coinfacts. I grade it personally at AU-55 or 58 for this better date I was looking for this date. I am still looking for the VAM number. Oh, and this is my 800th Edited by mrwhatisit 11/23/2021 09:08 am

It probably looks prooflike because it's been cleaned or polished. It looks AU details.

Doesn't look PL to me, just heavily marked up and possibly cleaned.

It must be from the photos, but when moved around in the light, it does not have that cleaned look to it, instead has that prooflike look to it.

I'm thinking AU Details as well.

I agree with the comments above that the coin has marks from circulation and a cleaning. From the photos the coin is not showing proof like qualities. Below are some photos of a circulated AU55 proof like example. This coin has mirrors in the fields present and some frost still showing on the devices.

Im going to go with a high XF, perhaps low AU, and not PL. Way too many hits and scratches and precious little luster to be found. Also agree its likely been cleaned.

it has quite a few contact marks but the pics lighting make it tough to see what the surfaces look like.

Numerous hairlines on both surfaces with the mint luster being dipped or cleaned away. AU Details.
