Hi All.

This post is to help me move up the learning curve. This coin shows extreme MD on the Obverse and Reverse. In the past I would think this was DD but the subtleties between the MD and DD are difficult, so trying to figure this out.

Why MD? My guesses:
1 Shelf like appearance
2. No split serifs
3. Devices do no show extra thickness

I would like your opinion on coin and guesses to help me determine if I am correct.

I agree with Machine Doubling.
Also looks like there is some Die Deterioration starting.

Thank you Kevin, although sometimes I think I over-consolidate! One thing I overlooked was the DDD - I guess I was thinking that MD is a result of DD and so did not parse it out. Maybe that is not true though....hmmmmm

I consider it more of a DDD than MD.

I think I should have said " guess I was thinking that MD is a result of Die Deterioration and so did not parse it out. Maybe that is not true though....hmmmmm

So John you think this results from DDD more that MD?
