Try as I might, I can not rely on myself to distinguish these apart. What do you all think? I know I used a scope for the pics and they are pixelated, but I'm fairly certain there is enough detail to distinguish for someone knowledgeable on the subject. Edited by Yorick 11/29/2021 9:43 pm

Your second picture definitely shows Machine Doubling here, but I am sure others are going to be wondering what the coin in question is.

Could be MD, but when it is biased toward the rim on each letter, then I think DDD. Also, @yor can you please add the date and denomination of this coin to your title? Thx.

Need to filter your light source. Kinda looks like a photo of a microscope monitor screen. John1

Leaning toward DDD here rather than MD.

You could have both. But in order to call it MD/DDD we would need to see the bottom/side devices. Then you would see a direction if Machine Doubling. But if all the outer devices are showing the same movement towards the rim direction, then it is DDD. Either way it is not a premium/variety for the coin. Move on to the next coin.

Please always include photos of the entire coin, both sides, in addition to your closeups. Thanks.

Your full coin pics are pretty good, just properly crop them before posting them. As to the pics of the monitor, I'll let other members chime in on that issue. John1

@John1, I just don't see them as being as clear as I might like. Should I crop in to right up agains the rim?

Yes,leave about an 1/8" to a 1/4" all around of the background. Also, most think that a 14% gray scale background works best. John1
