Filling out a check today made me realize today is a RADAR date. (12-1-21) Does anyone have any RADAR currency or coin (xx12, xx21) images to share? You know the nice ones, such as those ending in 12-1-21 BC( ), 1812, 2012 AD, or anything thereabouts. I'm not a currency collector but I am spellbound by RADAR notes as well. Now's your chance to show them off. Yes, it's that sort of thread. Post 'em if you got 'em and feel inclined to do so. Exonumia, currency, coins, etc. Love to see what you've got. I'll start off with my recently acquired 1912s RPM-001 Lincoln Cent. (Sorry in advance for the poor quality images.) Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. Very cool idea for a new thread, but should this be in the 'post your (topic)' section? I need to check if I have any ... PS, I love seeing Lincolns like this, and I have several that might fit well in this thread, so lets see if we got some solid 1's...

What a coincidence!! I found my first radar in the wild yesterday:) not amazing shape but definitely a keeper. Edit:I know it's Canadian and it's an American thread but figured I would share it as it is a radar date today:)

Great Lincoln MrWhatsit. I wasn't sure which forum to put it under. I hope people in the currency forum see it and post some more.
And that is a great coincidence Wrekked. A RADAR is a RADAR! Personally, I love it. Congrats.

Forgive me, but what is the definition of a "radar" coin? I thought radar numbers read the same backward or forward.

Like 1771, 1881, 1991, 2002, 2112 , etc., on the coins at least, but I was simply giving an example of OP's wording...

Sorry about the confusion CF but I was rushing it and not being very clear. RADAR is the same forward or backwards and so is today's date, 12-1-21. Currency collectors like RADAR serial numbers (like 582676285). I noticed today's date was 12-1-21 when I was writing a check today and I got the notion to use it in a thread since it is 12-1-21. Just to see what people had for RADAR notes or ... for coins, so coin collectors weren't neglected or left out, to post one with a 12 or 21 on it since that's the date. Ancient, modern, or other. Mrwhatsit would be correct about the date being the same forward or backward on a coin to truly be a radar coin but I thought that would limit the number of possibilities. So I was thinking of there being either a 12 or 21 on the coin or from an era that included a 12 or 21 (Ancient BC or AD era coins come to mind as well.) So 1881, 1771, 1661, etc would be true RADAR ocoins Just a different thread that others might enjoy.

Cool thread, I didn't pay attention to the repeater date today. I didn't go through my "stuff" but found three that I had loaded on the forum already. 2012P-1DO-003 1921 Canadian Cent 2021P Lincoln Cent unlisted.

There is two kinds of radars from what I've read, a straight radar (7729772) and a reverse radar(7729277) both would be radars.

Maybe there should be a special serial number day today as well. Don't remember what it's called but also a radar day today!!
12221 or 12, 2, 21
Edit: just realized about half of the dates for this month will be radars lol

I don't collect bills but found this one some years ago and just stashed it. Was surprised I could find it.

2012 or 2021 or 1912 or 1921 are not radar dates for coins. Now 1881, 1991, 2002 those are radars.

I save em sometimes I spend em. Just spent one 30 minutes ago. Usually I take a picture first then spend it. Takes too long to sell on ebay

Thanks Coinfrog. This is a bookend then. I thought radar may be first and last few numbers. It must be the full serial number. Now I know. That's what makes this great place for learning
