Anybody see the Jan 20 Numismatic News article about the die break in the claw. I opened a roll some time back to send a few to a forum member that needed P mints. After reading this article I pulled out the tube and checked the remaining 34 coins. 29 have the claw die break. Some are exactly as pictured in the article and others appear to be in different stages of the break. I don't remember who it was I sent them to so if you are out there, take a good look. Evidently these have been hyped on the Bay per the article.
First shot is a clean claw the rest have die breaks of different shapes.

I have found quite a few of them here in S.W. Michigan.
Some with what is being called extra claws. most with six, some with
seven and less with eight. kind of interesting. My son certainly enjoys them he wants to pick up some rolls and see how many different varieties he can find.

Just a thought, I too read the article in the N news and remember some of the "die break errors" on the reverse are the lettering and the X-tra claw. Also check the obverse for the apparent gouge that gives Mr Washington a "beard", looking like long hanging threads from his chin.....
