This "R" on my quarter does this mean anything?:: The Quarter is 1965.
The R is next to Washington's nose.
If any one could give any information on it I would be grateful!

Without pictures we won't be able to give any kind of educated guess.

Guess we're gonna wait for them batteries then

Obviously made in Rome by Emperor Washington. It was the year 65 but he added his age prior to the date.

Sounds like it might have been struck through a dropped letter. Without pics it's hard to say for sure.

If it looks like an R from Liberty or trust then you might have something.

If it looks like it's sunk in and there's a little flatness on the back opposite it then it's just damage and has no value.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
Rest in Peace

That's not a dropped letter, it's just a counter strike.

Coins tend to get all sorts of natural and unnatural damage in circulation. The mint has never done a good job of removing them but they hardly even try since there's no longer silver in them. Removing the coin is an expense so they tend to just keep going.

Yep. Probably just somebody trying out their nice new letter punches on the most convenient small, disposable piece of metal they had lying around the house: a coin.
