I picked up this 1883 Liberty Head "no-cents" nickel recently partly due to the folklore surrounding it.
Any and all evaluations of its condition would be greatly appreciated.


Also, previously posted in this thread was the observation that "1883 no cents are fairly cheap" as in inexpensive, which I found to be true.
But considering that mintage figures show the 1883 "with cents" variety outnumbering the 1883 "no cents" variety by about 3 to 1, why is it that the "with cents" variety generally commands three to fours times the value of the "no cents" variety ?
