Given the photos posted, the obverse appears to have a (rim) Cud. A closer-in, large and sharp photo or two would help nail that down.

Looks like a rim Cud.
Please do not hold coins in your hand.
Shoot photos on a flat surface .

you can see weakness on the reverse where the Cud is through the top of PLU.

That's a very nice Cud! It is listed as CU-5C-1979-01. Fun fact it was originally listed by our own Mike Diamond.

And for a relative value, something in the $30 zone.

Welcome to CCF. That's a nice die break. Called a Cud and forms when part of the hammer die broke off the edge, leaving a hollow for the metal to flow into.
