Not sure what it would be called with doubling on rim lettering, I have never zoomed in on the edge of a toonie to check the lettering but it's regular for them to cause bumps on the rim where the letters are stamped.

I would recommend never holding your coins between two fingers like in your last two photos, fingerprints can cause damage to your coins and destroy there value.

On incuse devices, slight Machine Doubling does happen. This is not a doubled die, but Machine Doubling.

Each coin has at least three dies to examine. What causes the bulging impressions on the rim?

Hi, the machine might have been set a little too tightly.

On the P and the D mmintmarks, they use the castigating machine (edge lettering machine and a die), and the coin is sent through in a separate step from the strike. It's always going to be Machine Doubling, the dies do not have doubling on them. the most valuable of these "errors" would be
1. not run through at all.
2. run through twice or more.
3. wrong coin run through like a sac dollar run through as a Presidential dollar on accident.
