@ready, I can't comment on the potential for doubling on the ear, but indeed that does look like a scratch on the surface of the rev. Is there some reason why you are thinking that the coin wasn't scratched after it left the mint?

i was just making sure it was a scratch because it was such a perfect line.. What would cause such a scratch or is it possibly some how damaged after? I got it out of a new roll of quarters all the same coin and mint.is it some type of machine that could cause the line like a coin machine for the rolls? Thanks again for all your inputs I'm still new to this
here are pics with what appears to be ear doubling and pics without ear doubling. I went thru several new coin rolls and almost have a full roll of the ones with what appears to be doubling
