Neat coin with nice eye appeal. The combination of the two strikes, the purple toning, and the curvature of the coin (concave on the reverse) make for a very eye-appealing error coin. Plus both strikes are bi-facial, whereas many of these errors have at least one of strikes uniface. Loved it as soon as I saw it. No Date Lincoln Memorial cent mint error - saddle strike

The planchet ends up landing between two striking dies. Often at least one of the collars has a planchet in it so you get a uniface strike, but for this one both were empty and both dies struck the coin at least fairly close to centered between them.

Whoa, wild toning on the unstruck area.

It would be great to find something like this in the wild. Odds are slim though huh?

If it were in the wild it wouldn't be in very nice shape. But one place you can sometimes find something like this is in estate collections. Folks have something odd come along and don't really know what to do with it so they put it in a FIDO bag. Can be some real winners if you can find those.
