Not sure what you are referring to as an error but if it is the colour,
that is caused by environmental toning, If it is something else then
please specify.

Could have been a cup holder victim with acid from coffee and soda altering the surface. So it is not a mint error.

Post-strike staining/corrosion caused by exposure to environmental agent(s), I'm thinking.

I agree, environmental tarnishing/staining/corrosion, most likely acidic in nature. no mint error, just post mint damage.
