First time posting so please be gentle haha. I'm very new to collecting, 3-4 months and decided to stick to Lincoln Cents for now with a preference for 1982 copper and older. I've had 4 wheat pennies put away with some random foreign and novelty coins. As I started looking more and more into errors I noticed this one had what I now believe to be a rim to rim doe crack. Later on when I started trying to get a better look at it I noticed the multiple die scratches as well. I've found 3 or 4 other Cuds but this was by far the coolest but then while trying to photograph it I had to second guess myself once again when the light hit it just right and I noticed/captured what I believe to be doubling on the top/top right of the letters "LURIBUS". I've always been the kind of person to research as much as I can and 17 years as a machinist has helped my attention to detail. Then again I've also been known to be wrong more then twice. If I'm looking at something wrong or settled on a wrong description please don't hesitate to tell me how it is. We all gotta learn somehow right.

Not a DDR that I can see. Best to check one of the three sites for Lincoln Cent variety comparisons. The doubling you probably see is what is known as Die Deterioration Doubling which is not considered collectable [or it could be Mechanical Doubling which is also not special]. Would need better pics for a determination.

The "crack" looks more like a lamination which is a flaw in the planchet not a die issue.

There are many resources out there to learn about varieties, errors, and such.

"I've also been known to be wrong more then twice"- Three times? LOL

I agree with CentSation, I too don't see doubling but it has a nice lamination error on the reverse!
