My eyes seek a fake. One obvious issue is the lettering used for the various legends/inscriptions - It doesn't match that used on genuine coins.
I'd steer clear.

This is crazy only because I wonder WHY IN THE WORLD somebody would want to fake this commemorative? Sure it has some value, but there about a million other pieces that would fetch a higher premium for the effort.
I don't really know what the process of counterfeiting a coin is like, but I can imagine...If I was a criminal and I was going to go through the labor of designing and producing a fake coin, take on the risks associated with such an effort and attempt to make a profit, a design like this would not make much sense given the very limited pool of buyers and the low value compared to other examples.

Quote: I wonder WHY IN THE WORLD somebody would want to fake this commemorative? One potential reason is that coins with a lower market value often draw less attention/scrutiny than do higher value pieces. So, mass producing fakes of a "lesser" coin can often yield a larger profit for the counterfeiter due to the lesser coin's greater acceptance. The "coin" shown resembles many of the modern Chinese-produced fakes that are artificially aged. They have low sunk costs and can be produced cheaply. They offer a solid opportunity for profit, unfortunately.
