I am assuming damage on this one.
Just curious how? Maybe acid damage?

Definite damage.
Looks like something might be stuck on it.
Hard to say for sure

Looks more like solder to me. I would expect this cent to be way over weight.

Yes, some substance appears stuck to the coin--can't tell if it's 'metallic' or not. Might try soaking the coin in 100% acetone for a few days--nothing to lose. Put it in a sealable glass container and let it soak.

Something is "on" the coin. Acetone does not remove everything though. It is PMD.

I can't even get the date on the coin right this morning. Lol. I weighed it and it weighs3.4 grams. I think it just might be solder now that it has been suggested. Good eye, spence.

Welcome to CCF. I was going to say it was on a wet concrete floor. But solder sounds good too.

OOOoo, wet concrete sounds plausible too! Either way, just post mint damage.

By the color, it looks like it could be something like JB Weld that wsa placed on it, (I can see a 'line' on the surface that looks like it was applied with a putty knife..
