Leaning towards PMD on this one, because of the "sharp" edges. However I'm seeing no metal movement whatsoever, so I just wanted to make sure before I tossed it.

It's hard for me to tell, it does appear to have a tiny lip of raised metal around the edge in the first picture but it could just be the lighting. If the edges are completely flush with the design then it is struck through.... Maybe a finger nail lol.

Gotcha, thanks for the help!

Here's the best closeup I could get. The lighting and glare is making the "cut" or whatever it is look black, though it isn't.

There seems to be minor flecks of debree within the area in question, but not on the outside. Not entirely for sure what that means. Could be metal remenants of PMD, or it could be debris from outside factors, such as the dust in my room or something along those lines.

Starting to lean towards PMD personally, still not sure.

A plastic toothpick could answer the question or raised metal around the area. If it hits something before actually entering the crevice then metal was raised up(even if just a tiny bit) it should be noticable. I'm actually leaning the opposite way towards struck through lol. If the metal was "gouged out" then the raised metal would be most prominent on the ends of the area affected(so where it starts and finishes) also the copper plating on these coins is very thin and I don't see zinc showing through where the effected area is

Interestingly enough, there doesn't seem to be any resistance when I move the toothpick across the spot, so I think you might be right.

The question is, what was struck through? (I very much appreciate the help Wrekkdd).

First thought seeing this it's a struck thru. And a Rim Fin. Check the edge of the coin should some metal missing from the rim on the reverse that'll match up with that indent.
