I posted this coin about 9 months ago here, while away at college this came back from PCGS and I had Trueviews done of it, so with these better pics, guess the grade. I'll reveal the grade in about a day or so.

Stunning toning if that is how the coin looks in hand. Trueview photos often enhance the level of toning that is actually present.
This coin is a conditional rarity in gem MS state or better, so I'm going PCGS MS64.
I would not be surprised however if the toning eye appeal bring this to MS65.

I like the rainbow toning.
MS-62. I haven't seen the previous pictures unless I forgot.

A nice example! Quote: I would not be surprised however if the toning eye appeal bring this to MS65. I agree. I see MS-65 as a possibility here, but also expect MS-64.

A shocker to everyone, UNC details cleaned. I was expecting a 63/64 and was really disappointed with the grade. No indication of cleaning in pics or in hand. I'll probably resubmit at some point

It would look very nice in either a commemorative album or in the commemorative slot of the 7070 album.

Quote: It would look very nice... in the commemorative slot of the 7070 album I just so happen to have this type in my 7070.

Quote: A shocker to everyone, UNC details cleaned. I hadn't submitted a guess on the grade, but was interested to see how it turned out. I sure wouldn't have expected that result, however. Good luck on the resubmission.

Quote: A shocker to everyone, UNC details cleaned. Now that's a surprise! Any cleaning of the coin seems likely to have occurred many years ago based on what appears - from the images - to be natural toning that would have taken years in a sulfur-rich holder to develop. Have a very close look at the reverse - it might be the reason for the assessment. Quote: I'll probably resubmit at some point Could be worth it, but the coin is fairly distinctive in its toning and might have already been added to the grader's image database as a cleaned coin.

I do like the reverse design. 2 people making up the North and South Continents. But especially the ocean currents that are modeled on it.

Nothing at all in hand to suggest cleaning, good luster all around, no hairlines, toning looked good.
Graders have databases for previously graded coins? First time I have heard of something like that, not sure how they have the time to check with the amount of volume they have, as well as the fact that whoever grades the coin is random every time.
