Thanks Spence! This coin is not magnetic. Although I am not currently in possession of a scale, I would venture to guess this coin is between 8-12 g (I am making this estimation comparing it to a 1972 JFK Half Dollar... they are roughly the same weight from touch). Hope that helps

Well, it is certainly not silver but brass. Third legend of emperor Te Tsung. One of the provincial issues, 10 or 20 cash. The legends seem too worn to identify more precisely.

From memory copper coins were diluted other metals during times of copper shortages which resulted in a yellower colour. Worth keeping as an example of this in my books.
