Thanks Bumpkin Still new to the error world of coins.
You're welcome JRob and no worries. Learning about errors and varieties will not happen overnight....lol. It takes quite a while (AND a whole lot of patience) to stick with it and really learn the intricacies of what to look for. You will probably go through and look at 1,000's of coins (unless you are just a downright lucky person) before you find a doubled die in the wild. At least that's the way it happened for me. I thought I'd never find one. One reason was that I wasn't exactly sure what I was truly supposed to be looking for. The MD and
DDD thing fooled me more times than I can remember. But..... once you do find that "diamond in the rough", you will never look back in realizing and knowing what a true doubled die looks like! I urge everyone new (and old alike) to the hobby to use the numerous valuable online resources at your disposal to learn and educate yourself what is, and what is not, a true variety or error. Good luck!
Here's a great link that explains most of the worthless types of doubling. You will have to copy and paste it in your browser. Hope this helps.
