Some wear on the beard, mustache, and hair otherwise a very nice coin. I agree AU-50 though it might grade a little higher.

Choice XF, IMO there is more than just the lightest evidence of wear.
There is obvious wear to that side burn and hair and moderate overall contact wear to all the high points of this coin and slightly flattened spots of wear. There is also some foreign matter between the lettering, like some kind of soil or grime that most likely came from some handling.

I'd call it XF and drop it a grade to VF due to the cleaning. Krause says $7.50 in VF and $15.00 in XF. This seems reasonable considering nearly 23 million were made.

I can accept XF+ but not VF for cleaning. You can not down grade because of cleaning. Can you?
