Ok, here is an interesting 1982 P copper cent with a foreign object next to Lincoln's face. The coin is worn and struck with PMD but I am wondering about the object next to his forehead! It appears to be a piece of wire possibly struck into the planchet during mint strike. Look carefully and you can see material to the right of the object almost like die chips but I think it is surface material caused by the object moving during the strike. Let me know your thoughts. Regards!

It is a reed hit from a reeded edge coin.

Fun hit. Yes, looks like a reeded edge struck the coin from right to left--dug into copper surface and pushed up a reeded 'pattern'. Might be a chunk of reeded edge that remained in the striking chamber. Curious. Others will be along to weigh-in.

Any idea of what reeded coin caused it?

Most likely a quarter with a fresh and sharp reeded edge. I also see another reed hit just below the 'T'

Pretty cool looking hit.
