I need help with this coin. I ran across this coin last night and have messed with it for a couple hours. The best I can tell, it's reversed. I've found lots of typical and atypical clashes but never one that was the same direction of the die, so I'm not 100%.
Sorry the full coin shots aren't that clear, they were fighting me. Let me know if you need other pics.

Here is an angled pic to show the depth, it's raised and just below the rim.

To me it looks like a die dent if it is raised. The striation lines are from another die making contact with that area of the die. A die was probably the cause. Often referred to as die dents. If the mark is incuse, then it could be just coin damage. I note that the rim is also altered on that area. So depending on raised or incuse on the coin. Raised, die damage. Incuse coin damage.

I ran across two more of these recently and found a marker that matched all three, so likely the same die. I also noticed that they all have Tanman's anomaly in the doorway but only these three, have the die dent, of 20 plus coins I have found like Tanman's. I think this goes a step further in Tanman's theory of his being a working hub issue.
