I found this coin earlier this morning and saw that the floating roof likely does bring a small premium. I'm not entirely sure how rare it is or if it's considered an error but regardless, I thought it was pretty cool find to share. It also has some light toning mainly towards the top of each side. The toning you see going through the middle is the same as the toning above it, the lighting in this picture just happens to enhance that spot. One last thing does anyone know if having a visible FG makes the coin more rare or less rare?

I hate to break it to you, but these no longer bring a small premium. When they were first discovered the grading services recognized it, but then when so many flooded the market the novelty wore off and their value tumbled. It is not a mint error, it's simply an over polished die, with a value of one cent (sorry).

Agree with Merc. Been an over polish die for more use it is not considered an Mint error, or better say Mint error strike error. It is nice to have in a collection near all the others varieties, errors for same year. This all together will value more then a single coin.

The "FG" is still there, but on this one the statue is fading. PCGS used to list these, but they are common to find on other years as well. Just an heavier polisher on duty:
