The images fall short of what I see through the Loop and Microscope. The S is 2 distinct letters. Thanks in advance for your time! Report this Post to the Staff

This is a case of want it bad enough you see it, I guess. I swear that the Mintmark looks like 2 raised S's until I see it in the images. Time to invest in a coin scope. Have a great rest of week. levelsofmadnes Pillar of the Community United States 3003 Posts	Posted 01/12/2022 05:51 am i have a cheap loupe from hobby lobby that I use. but when taking pictures, it is all about the lighting. one time I took two pictures (lighting at different angles) of a coin and I swear from the pictures it was two different varieties. so, that is why I say IT IS ALL ABOUT THE LIGHTING. good luck on future finds Report this Post to the Staff

ijn1944 Bedrock of the Community United States 19148 Posts	Posted 01/12/2022 07:38 am Yes, the '69 S cent seems to have a high(er) incidence of strong Machine Doubling associated with the date and mint mark. I've seen several hundred examples over the decades. I keep the best ones in a tube. Report this Post to the Staff
