Yes (plus it's offered by a seller I personally avoid, tipped off by the familiar red background. Eek.)

They sold for $19 each too. I just dont see it. I would rather have a nice VF one and the extra money than those.

It's a nice coin, but yeah, definitely looks cleaned.
I didn't think it would sell for that much

Yes. The key here is appearance. I personally have no problem with cleaned coins.

But this one is just gosh-darned unattractive.

They called it AU but based on the price guides it went for around VF30 money. I think people get lured in by the AU and think it's a bargain. It's got some decent detail on it, but I don't think it is an attractive coin either. This coin looks beat up and scrubbed. Better to spend $30-35 on a really nice XF or AU then to save a few bucks - my opinion at least.

I bought a couple of ok items from this seller way back when their feedback was around the 10K range (it's over 100K now) and they always would note if a coin was cleaned/rubbed/etc. I've stayed away more recently because they seem to have a large following that drives up the prices.

I often see this seller's auctions while browsing ebay and it seems the majority of his coins are slightly to seriously damaged. Many are cleaned. This one does look cleaned, with quite a few significant dings and scratches, plus I don't think it makes AU in terms of wear.

I would grade it "EF details, cleaned and damaged" and value it maybe at the level of an original F-15 coin. This would be a great "found in rolls" coin but I wouldn't buy it except at a rock-bottom price.
