My fourth coin is a 2016 100 Tenge from Kazakhstan. I just really like the design and the amount of detail.

Todays coin I originally hesitated getting, the pictures I saw didn't look good. The seller assured me the coin was much nicer than his phone pictures and I'm glad I purchased it. This coin commemorates the carnation revolution in Portugal. The end of the 2nd republic and the start of a true democracy.

I am enjoying this thread, seeing what everyone values in their collections. Quote: It was handed down to me and I think that passing coins along to the next generation is a great way to make a lasting connection. This 1914-D cent was graded F-12 when I sent it in for slabbing at SEGS. That's a very nice hand-me-down! I still haven't picked up a 14-D for my set - maybe one day. Here is my day four offering. This is the first classic commemorative that I obtained. I've told the story before, but this Roanoke is prized for many reasons, one of which is that it was hand-selected for me by CCF's master of the series, @Commems.

Looking good, everyone! Day 4 This was the most recent "big purchase" for my Dansco 7070. I bought it at a coin show in February 2020 just before the world stopped. 1847 Seated Liberty dollar

Thank you! It was a great find at a good price. No way I was leaving that show without it. I was $50 short and the dealer let me pay the balance on my credit card. First time I ever used a credit card at a coin show.

Day #4. A token halfpenny token. 1794. One of my favorite Conders with appeal from an historical and a military point of view, and fans of horses on coins would be keen on it as well. Beautiful red-brown luster with some iridescent purple toning mainly on the reverse. An interesting comparison among mottoes of the era: Life, Liberty, Property (Locke) Liberty, Loyalty, Property (Yeoman Cavalries) Life, Liberty, the Pursuit of Happiness (Jefferson) Liberty, Equality, Brotherhood (Robespierre) Fans of numismatics might note that Blything's neighboring hundred to the west is Hoxne, home of the famous Hoxne Hoard.
