Picked up in an auction for around $12. The listing and pictures showed a 1962-D Split Planchet, but weirdly enough I received this '61-D. I'm not complaining though, as this example is better than what I expected the '62 to be. This coin comes in at 1.6 grams. I've never had a split Planchet like this, so it's amazing to me just how thin this coin is. (The coin on the right is the Split Planchet, and the coin on the left is a normal example of a copper cent.)

That's awesome! I like how the error is easily explained, easy to see, and very dramatic.

I like how Lincoln's profile took so much material to fill in, that it left the split planchet lines on the reverse. Nice

Quart, I saw many ex-foliated planchet but full like this? WOW. Nice to find also the twin also, probably separate on the cut planchet. This it is a really find and deal.

that is a great coin. that lucky 'mistake' by the seller/shipper is extremely fortunate for you.

It seems like they all look different. I've only got one and it looks very different. Nice score!
