I am not sure if my pictures of my coin are attached or not, but here goes....

I have a 1957-D Jefferson nickel;
It looks as though the "57" has some doubling. Also at the left of the chin before the word "GOD" there are indentations that I want to think are mint errors.

Can anyone help?

Looks more like die wear and general circulation to me accounting for the doubled appearance. Those marks in front of Jefferson are most likely dings made after minting.

To me it looks like the date has taken a hit and is damaged.

Very difficult to determine given the photos posted. Appears to be the result of post-strike damage with a dose of circulation wear.

Note all the affected areas are incuse. 99% of incuse marks are PSD. Yours fits in that category. If they were hub doubling on a die, they would be raised on the coin, as they are incuse on the die. If the die has a crack, they would show as a raised are in the coin. Any void on the die, like a chip or break, leaves a void on the die, raised on the coin. Damage is an innie on a coin. Damage/hub doubling is an innie in the die, but raised on a coin. Just how it works.
