Hello,

I have a question about this coin. Of course, I can identify it but what I found curious is the coin appears to be two fused planchettes. I am a complete beginner, but I was under the impression that meant it was a fake... But this is hardly a rare or valuable coin.

Looking at the side, I believe it's two fused pieces... Is that right? Is this a fake? As I aim to learn more about coins this is curious to me...

Also, these kopeks seems very low priced and plentiful...
Best,

R.

@roma, any chance of you adding a pic or two of the edge so that we can see what you are talking about? Thx.

I can't quite see the mintmark. CM?

Better photos and photos of the edge will help.

Sorry for the terrible pictures. I did not take a photo of the edge, somehow thinking I could magically describe what I saw with pinpoint accuracy! Haha

The mint mark is EM ekaterinburg.

I'll take more photos next time
