i need advice on this coin. I have never seen the outline of the head and only part of the face being pressed. it is 2/3 the thickness of a nomal dime. it also looks like it is missing material on the backside. if I could get any input in this thing I would love it. thank you in advance

The parallel markings on the OBV and REV front make me think this dime has been deliberately damaged. Possible using a sander.

i was thinking the same thing when I seen this image. but this image is really magnified. if you could see it naturally. it looks like missing material. I showed a coin collecter I know. he said to go get it appraised. I guess I will take it somewhere to get it looked at. I will let you know what I find out.

. Looks like PMD to me. Not worth sending into a third-party grader like PCGS or NGC or ANACS. A spender if you ask me. John1

I agree, just a ground down dime.

If it was too thin to press properly, the weakest part would be Roosevelt's head, as that is the high point of the coin. the center of his head is struck properly, so I can't see it being anything except post mint damage.

with post mint damage - it was sanded down. Do you have the weight of the coin?
