Hi Coin Community,

I have this one I would like feedback on.

Instead of the usual color you would expect to see it's shiny and silver plate looking.

Is this some sort of modification to the coin post mint or was it made this way?

Thanks

It is a plated coin. Normal copper cent, then plated over the surface. Just a face value coin now. It was altered after it was struck. Not a premium for the coin.

Likely plated. Does it have a normal weight of 3.1 grams?

I guess the plating doesn't weigh much. I dunno. Thanks for proposing the question cookiemonster.

Yes, plated. Could be held on to as a curiosity.

Normal weight for a circulated coin. During the circulation the coins loose weight. The physical law of friction.

It's plated. Plating is so thin it barely adds to the overall weight. Just from circulation it loses a bit, then plating adds a tiny bit, and too, we're talking about amateur scales so it could be off a little bit.

Just a battery car, right solution , cathode and electrode and you make plating in your garage.
