So I see Coolmobd post (1955 DDO Lincoln Wheat cent )and , -makecents- told about LINK http://www.varietyvista.com/01a%20L...5PDDO002.htm but, to me the photos look shelf like or, md as I've been told here before. So like the poorman's 55 I have some to go thew but, I just started to put some coins on ebay ( just have too much) so others can enjoy them or, the will just seat in abox forever , so here is a pic of a 53-p with what I was told is a ghoast 3 or, 53/3 (www.ebay.com/itm/154803886153) does this look md or, DDO ?

The R looks almost the same but not quite. see in the center loop of the R? On the VV, you can see the doubling there as well on your example you cannot - it looks normal. and then look at the T next to it. clear doubling on the VV example, your is just 'smeared' to the rim - indicating DDD

Remember True doubled dies are carved into the die when it is made, other 'doubling' you see afterwards are just 'die events' as the die wears out..
So goin back to your example above, if it were a doubled die, you would see the doubling on all the devices as shown by VV not just random letters like just the R. Because they were all MADE doubled on the die.

So as Dearborn pointed out that all would be the same , but on some coins it's just an extra eye lid that they call DD , So with that said how many times might they tool a die , why could it not change ? you see some coins have alot of dd (like how many 72 DDO's )And some of them look MD . And who gets to say what a coin is ( I see mixed replys on some coins )?

Coin is also LDB6-1953-001, a well-known die that is not a DDO.
