I'm new to this. So I'm curious why does this look so different to me. Sorry to have to ask. I'm just trying to learn and get into errors. If it is an error and not damage I mean.

Always show both sides of the coin rotated properly and explain what it is you see as an error so we aren't guessing.

@mad, first welcome to CCF. Second, are you talking about the heavy rim on the left side of the coin? Help us to help you by being specific about what you are seeing with the coin in hand. Thx.

At first glance, there's a hint of obverse misaligned die--very minor, not an error.

We you here! This is a classic case of a misaligned die or a mad, where the obverse die shifted in relation to the reverse die. These are somewhat common with minor mad's, but if devices start falling off, then the value to error collectors increases, sometimes dramatically. Yours is along the lines of a minor mad, so no premium value but it is good to keep as a good example of one.

to CCF....We ask for a shot of the reverse (back) of the coin because if it has the same condition as the obverse then you would have a slight off center struck coin. If only the obverse is effected than it's a MAD (mis-aligned die)..

Have you read through the Glossary yet?...Easy and fast read to get you caught up on all the terms....

Yep; to CCF

I agree with Greasy Fingers. There are 2 possibilities that happened to this coin. Only one will be correct. We need to see the obverse AND reverse to see what happened to this coin.
