I'm just trying to find out if this coin is real or fake because my mother gave it to me a couple days ago!

Fake. Wrong dies used and crude quality.

Late to reply- but certainly is not genuine.
One of those easy to spot at a glance having two different province names that don't belong on the same coin.

Hello and welcome.

In case it's not obvious from the above replies, this coin is a "mule": the province named on the English-language side is Hupeh Province, the province named on the Chinese-language side is Szechuan Province. These two different sides belong on two different coins, from different provinces. and should not be found on the same coin.

It is therefore fake (technically a "fantasy" rather than "counterfeit", since genuine Hupeh-Szechuan mules do not exist). The people in China who are mass-producing these cheaper fakes often do not take great care to make sure the two dies they use at any given time "belong together", since the target market are people who don't speak both English and Chinese. Fake "mules" like this are very common, and is one of the easiest telltale indicators of it being a fake.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

To expand on the above, for those that may not know, the standard dragon dollar pattern has one side in English and the other side in Chinese.
In this case one province is spelled out in English, but the other side is a different province spelled out in Chinese. It's a very common indicator of typical Chinese coins that are not genuine. You can also bet that the SG, if tested, will be in the 7 or 8 range instead of the 9 to 10 range.
