Hey all! I'm a little new and wanted to see if I could get some opinions on this one. Does this look like damage or like a mint error? And any tips on recognizing the difference would be amazing. Thanks in advance.

Appears to be post-strike damage--nicks and gouges received over many years of circulation. Not a mint error. Coins can be damaged in any number of ways--hits taken in general circulation, mechanical damage in vending machines and mechanical coin wrapping devices, run over by garbage trucks, intentional mutilation, etc. etc.

Damage is not a mint error. Just like your new car with a dented fender. It happened after it left the lot, so it is not a factory error. Just like a damaged coin is just a damaged coin. Just a face value coin, not a cull coin. Worth face value.
