1914 Nickel Variety/ Error(S) - Coin Community Forum

Muffun New Member Sweden 23 Posts	Posted 02/08/2022 7:18 pm So I noticed 3 things on this coin. Starting I was looking to see if it was a variety 4 over 3 but instead found the date looked doubled then I saw pics of the 4/3 varieties they looked similar to mine in fact...... the second thing is the crack well or lamination error not sure what to call it has it at the edge of the coin even to the nose. the third weird thing is under the chin I thought maybe it was a design change or something but can't find anything out about it. I have included 2 really close images of the crack the thing under the chin and the date. Was hoping someone could maybe help me figure out what each thing was especially the chin * Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. * Report this Post to the Staff

Dearborn Moderator United States 95360 Posts	Posted 02/08/2022 7:53 pm The 'hairs' under the chin are formed from the letters in 'E. Pluribus. Unum' It is the word 'Unum' that made the marks.
