Even assistance with what this says would be appreciated. I've been wondering what this is for years. I've seen it only once online in an ebay auction from a seller who seemed to specialize in middle eastern coins who labeled it as "unidentified coin"

@goof, that is an interesting piece, but I'm thinking not coin. At least part of the rim looks octagonal—can you tell whether this is damage or the actual shape? You might need to remove from the 2x2. My first thought is that it is a variation of the "mysterious Egyptian Magic Coin": http://www.brianrxm.com/comdir/cnsm...agiccoin.htm

Thanks for the reply, other than some rim dings and the damage at 11:00, the rims are indeed octagonal. The other example I saw about a year ago was the same

I don't think it's actually from Egypt. The sphinx and pyramid are very crudely rendered, a flag like that hasn't flown over Egypt since 1867, and that script is unlike any script used in Egypt today.
I'm not sure if the script is supposed to be Arabic, Egyptian Demotic, English, or just gibberish scribbles intended to look kind of like letters, because it doesn't closely resemble text in any of those writing systems.

Still stuck on this one, if anyone has any additional ideas.

@goof, sorry but I have no additional ideas. With that said, I did notice that someone else put a similar piece up for sale on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/255820850727Unfortunately, the description is somewhat sparse: Quote: EGYPT PYRAMID & SPHINX + FLAG TOKEN UNUSUAL 18mm You might pay attention to this auction to see for how much it eventually sells.

They seem to be a bit ambitious in their asking price for an unattributed token.

I get reminder notifications about viewed items all the time, but I have never received a discount offer unless I watched the item first.
