Is this coin woth saving? I tried with Q-tip and acetone actually got some of it off. Doesn't look nearly as cleaned with naked eye. Dark areas around letters and wheat stalks are signs of being cleaned in the past/ I had this coin for around 15 years and only recently tried to get the junk off the front. Very good or f-12 if it could get a straight grade?

I'd say F details (environmental damage). Guessing this is beyond any potential restoration.

Yep, environmental damage of some sort. Would be close to fine condition, otherwise.

It's 113 years old. Bad things happen to good coins over time.

Maybe some Verdicare, Blue Ribbon or Coin Care might mitigate any further damage but most of that stuff is hard to come by.

I'd hang onto it, but that's just me.

F-12, doesn't appear to be corrosion to me, looks like just some toning and gunk from being circulated. There is nothing you can do to "help" this coin, best left alone IMO.

F-12 seems about right . A little environmental issue , not sure if it will detail the coin . Yes keep it .

It's an 09-S, so yes, a keeper despite what I consider a fairly minor stain. F12 looks reasonable as a grade. Hole filler at a minimum all day long.
