This is my first 2022 coin and while looking it over I remembered Coops advice to look in the center of the rev. for signs of doubling. Low and behold it looks like part of a secondary hoop earring to the SW. there's even some pretty knarly interior die breaks and chips for markers. One is the corner of Washington's mouth and a small chip (soon to be large) on the bridge of his nose. Thanks for looking and let me know your thoughts. George foaming at the mouth! Didn't the mint know "mad" George was on the other side of the pond?

This might help. Here are a couple of images from the web for comparison. Also, in hand, it is easier to tell the hoop curves back and almost touches the hoop at about K9 on the primary hoop. Too much glare with my current setup to capture that. My images seem to show only a slight curve to the raised area.

This looks like what the new DDR will look like for this design. You looked in the correct area for it.Looks like that will be the 'Target Area" for the DDR: The obverse "Target Area" will be in this area on the DDO: Also the clashes will affect different areas, so here are the design clash for this die pair: CoopHome: What are the target areas for the new design for the quarters? Also the new die clash overlays?

DDR. (a new one) The die chips on the obverse are already showing up on this design. Maybe George needs some dental work. (remember he had wooden teeth)

Thanks, Coop. Those are some nice overlays, images, and input. And thanks to everyone that took a look. I don't usually spot newly minted coins until about April of each new year. Kind of surprised to see one so early and it looks to be a DDR to boot.

I just saw this, overlooked because it was a quarter. Hmmmm.... Are you using that new scope? This one is interesting, I like it.

Thanks Dearborn and Makescents.
MC, These images are with my old phone and macro lens. Limited space and heavy workload (limited time) makes for quick images if I want to share.
But you might be right. It might help get a clear closeup of the doubling. I'll try to do that this weekend.
